52 Portraits

I am undertaking the 52 portraits challenge.  I was talked into it/inspired by my sister over at Thisway Thataway, though she is pretty talented with her camera and I am not I will still give it a try.  I take a million pictures of my children anyway, plus one of my aspirations for the year is to take more pictures with my real camera.  Each week, for 52 weeks, I will post a picture of the bratlings, one of each or, if I can manage to get them to like each other long enough, one of both of them together and  little blurb about it.

Week 1

Claire and I went to a little event today called Play to Learn which is held at, Annie Wright School, an old school in town.  The school is an old brick building, with many sharp dormers and pretty windows.  As soon as we walked up Claire was excitedly telling me that this was Aurora's castle (Aurora of Disney fame).  We went inside and she was telling me the whole time that this was Aurora's castle and asking where she was.  After the class I decided to let her walk around the building to get a good look. This picture is what happened when I told her that Aurora was not home and we could not go back in the castle to look for her.

Week 2

I am way behind but better late than never I suppose.  This week we were hit hard by a rain and wind storm. We spent most of the week all cooped up in the house but when we got a break in the weather for a few minutes we headed out with our rain boots on.  Let me tell you, these kids found some epic mud puddles! here they are finding the mother load of alley puddles.

Week 3

This one is just to show my love of two things, my girl and Audrey Hepburn.  I have this amazing book called Audrey 100 and it is nothing but beautiful pictures of the incredible actress and humanitarian.  Claire has her own love for Audrey, since she was a tiny baby she has had two prints hanging in her room along with the quote "I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls" a little snip it from a famous quote by Audrey.  She received a story book about Audrey's life from her auntie Deanna and she loves it, I sometimes find her sleeping with it.  One night she discovered that there was a "princess" book inside my coffee table and insisted I get it out to look at it, this is when she discovered that it was the same princess she has on her walls and in her book.  Here she is studying "Audee Hepapburn".
